Are logos/team mascots illegal to recreate in handmade crafts? I do a lot of PC (plastic canvas) and needle point work on various things. I saw a very cute Eagles tissue box that seemed like it would be a popular item. Is it illegal to recreate school/professional mascot logos on handmade items with the intention to sell them at craft shows? I don't want to get in trouble with copyright laws so hopefully someone knows.
What's the best way to sell handmade crafts online? I plan to make a variety of items to make money. Woodcrafts, sewing, jewelry, handdrawn cards, eventually dolls and doll clothes. Ebayers don't seem to get much for their crafts from what I've looked at. Are there some good sites to sell from?
How much discount should you give to friends when selling handmade crafts? I know someone who wants to sell their crafts and start a business but isn't sure what percentage discount is right to offer friends, family and colleagues. To give the items away fro free would scupper the business before it starts! But to charge full price seems wrong. Is there a standard percentage discount that is generally considered reasonable? Are the percentages for friends, family and colleagues different?
Do you still buy handmade crafts? Are there still people interested in purchasing handmade crafts? I'm not talking about stuff from the wholesale catalogs that is imported. What rules are there for selling handmade crafts at car boot sales? I want to supplement my income by making jewellery and bookmarks etc to sell at my local car boot. Is this allowed or is it just supposed to be old belongings that you want to get rid of? Some people sell records and stuff - do they have traders licence? Do i need one?
What type of license do I need to sell handmade crafts at shows/festivals in wv? If it is a general state license, what code would that business fall under? Does this license allow me to also sell items from my home? If I think I can sell more than $4000 of items in a year, what type of license would I then apply for? And last question, will getting a business license negatively affect my IRS refund? Any help is greatly appreciated

Where can a 14 year old sell handmade paper crafts and greeting cards!? Okay well I make greeting cards. They're really good. They're honestly better than many that you would find at wal-greens or something. I have sold them before for like 2 dollars but then people stopped buying them. I would really like to extend this buy making paper gifts. I have so many paper craft magazines that help give me good ideas. Does anyone know where I would be able to sell these types of things? should I put up flyers? I don't know what to do!
Cute name for a handmade crafts business? Over the summer I'm thinking of selling some of my handmade items at a garage sale my family will be having. I make things like little clutches, headbands, and small accessories? I'm looking for something short, and cute. I might just do my first name, but I feel like its too un-original. Thanks! craft name for my handmade crafts? I'm trying to think of a name for my new craft blog/home craft business. I need something that will be remembered, unique and maybe catchy. Nothing tacky like using the wrong spellings such as 'Kool Krafts' etc etc. I make handmade cards, many card crafts, paper floral displays etc. I use the cricut expression for most of my projects. I love ladybirds, bugs, cats and butterflys so maybe the name could include any of this? My cat is called Pearl so that also would be considered in the name. I do all my crafts in a recently converted, small craft room so this also could be used to help choose name. any ideas are helpful thank you.

Hi, I aspire to sell my handmade jewelry and I am wondering if for a start I could just drive down to Morehead Beach in North Carolina and sell my crafts from the back of my hatch back? So, I wanna sell my handmade crafts from home, and...? I'm wondering, do I need a business license to do so? Do I need to pay taxes on them? I mean, it's JUST me, making my own stuff, that I MADE MYSELF, selling them myself, do I need to go through all sorts of channels? I wanna set up a website, and put paypal on my site so people feel safe buying from me. Do I need a DBA name? License? Tax information? Anything like that? Help would be appreciated. Thankee kindly ^_^ Okay, so the local comptroller's website says that "Unless you are a grower or manufacturer, you may not offer for sale, sell or otherwise dispose of any goods within Maryland, without first obtaining a trader's license." So then, as I'm planning on only selling goods that I MYSELF made by hand (thus, I am manufacturing), does this mean I don't need a license?

Where can I find information about Chinese Traditional Handmade Folk Arts and Crafts? Does anyone know where the best place to sell handmade Thai crafts is? I work with some ethnic Thais who produce very high quality, hand made crafts such as hand embroidered Thai silk scarves and some wooden carved pieces. Also some reclaimed buddhist relics. The scarves are high end quality. When I say hand made, I mean hand made. The stitching takes around 9 weeks to do. I am looking for places to sell the scarves etc, either wholesale or retail. Because they are hand stitched, each piece is unique and the supply is small volume. My Thai friends are not looking to make mega bucks. They just want to find a channel for them to sell the crafts that they make. They can ship around the world but again, not large quantities. Thanks for any help.

Anyone know of any sites other than ebay to sell handmade quilts and other crafts on? Personal experience? My mom makes these beautiful hand made quilts but has been having problems selling them on ebay. Part of the problem is likely the fact that she has no seller feedback and little experience with ebay. I would really be open to any suggestions from experienced sellers for ebay and would love to explore some other sites to see if they may be better for her than ebay. She will have over 200 watchers but no bids! Its not the price because she is barely selling them for more than her personal cost to make them. Any and all suggestions will be welcome but please we will not purchase anything from you and please don't be a jerk! Sorry but there are alot of random responses on yahoo answers lately.
How to copyright for handmade items? If I was to make a handmade greeting card or any other craft item, how do I go about copyrighting it? Eg on the back of the card can I just write 'C(copyright symbol) name 2008'? Also am I able to use patterned paper or fabric to use in my craft items without having to seek permission to use it? Are copyright laws different in each country? I'm from Australia.
Where to find stores in Singapore to consign felt crafts n jewelleries designed and handmade by me? Hi, I am a free-lance artists interested in a variety of crafts. Currently into felt crafts and jewelleries. I am just 'hobby' making and selling but hope to find decent online stores and especially on-site stores in Singapore to consign my crafts. I live in the eastern part of Singapore. I am at VitaminJ@etsy.com. Hoping to reach out to my fellow Singaporeans in particular. Any good suggestions? Sorry, the link to my store should be http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5684318 The cart booth at Bugis cost about $4000 when I inquire last year. I may consider fairs but looking for other better possibilities. Do share with me ya")
How do you price your crafts? I did extremely well at my first craft fair last week! But there was concern from a family member that the prices for my handmade soap and jewelry are too low. Can anyone offer pricing guidelines? Thanks!

Is it possible to make money at craft sales or flea markets selling handmade goods? Okay, so I have a little talent. You may think it's only VERY little. I can knit. I can whip up adorable mittens in a couple of hours, knit socks, make cute beaded and wire-work jewelry, etc. Does anyone ever REALLY make any money at craft fairs? My feeling on the matter is that unless you get your supplies for wholesale, you're unlikely to even recoup the cost of your materials (yarn, sterling wire, etc.). I'm not looking to get rich. Just pay for my materials and maybe make enough for a few Christmas gifts or to support my continued creative habits. People continue to DO this type of thing, so someone must make SOME money out of it. Is there a secret to this? Certain things or price ranges that sell like hot cakes? I'm very curious about this!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Let me clarify: I do NOT wish to quit my day job and make a living as an "artist." I work full time and plan to do so until retirement. In fact, I love my REAL job. I'm just wondering if I'd LOSE tons of money getting a booth twice a year or if I might actually make a couple hundred bucks.
Selling crocheted handmade items at stores? I have a few crocheted purses and other items that I've been trying to sell online... and it hasn't been working. I was wondering if anyone knows of a store that takes in handmade items and buys them off you? Kind of like a used clothes store for crafts?
Where can I find jewelry design ideas - handmade and beaded - also tips for starting a business! Help!? I have been making jewelry, handmade, wire-wrapped, beaded... lots of fun but would really like to make it into more of a business. I have my CA sales tax id, looking for other "stuff" I need to do to get started. Any tips would be appreciated as well as loan type options. I have a good stock built up of gemstones and beads but need to build a website, buy display items, get into some craft shows... whew... exciting but running out of funding is my number one problem (have my circle of friends and family buying and one dealer who has picked up the line but still) I don't know where to go or what to do. Any one with experience here who would not mind sharing their knowledge would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
